What Is A Fit Note From Your GP – Occupational Health Explained

A fit note is a note that details if you are unfit for work, or maybe fit for work. The term ‘maybe fit’ sometimes causes confusion. A GP might say you ‘maybe fit’ for work and that means you are potentially ok to return to work, but you might not be able to fulfil your normal working duties.

On your fit note form, certain boxes can be ticked that relate to the changes at work you might benefit from – e.g. altered hours, amend your working area or amended duties in the long term.
